About Frac Attack

When the town of Ithaca, New York gets fracked by natural gas drilling, the water goes sour and the citizens start craving human flesh. Anna and other survivors band together to save their community.

Frac Attack: Dawn of the Watershed, winner of a 2009 Sustainable Tompkins Sign of Sustainability Award, is a short zombie movie made by over seventy members of the Ithaca community to inspire action to protect our environment from the corporations who seek to exploit it.

Frac Attack is a co-production of Shirari Industries and The Dacha Project in association with the Shaleshock Citizens Action Alliance. The idea for the film emerged from the D.I.Y. Movie-Making Ithaca Freeskool class.

The film premiered on December 10th, 2009 at Cinemapolis and is now streaming online for free, as well as on YouTube, Facebook, and Vimeo.

Community groups around the region will be organizing screenings, and anyone is invited to host their own event of any size.
